RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.
In a major honour for the nation, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has been acknowledged to be the 'Central Banker of the Year 2020 - Asia Pacific' by London based international finance affairs publication The Banker which is owned by The Financial Times, reports Moneycontrol.
Lauding his efforts to deliver on his responsibilities, the publication noted that Das as the governor of the RBI had brought in measures to tighten the rules around shadow banking and brought Indian banking up to the standards through an approach of restrained governance.
Making a mention of Das' push to the nation's sundry urban co-operative banks to install robust IT based mechanisms and systems, the publication underscored that the step would enable such banks to offer banking services at low costs with safeguards to protect the customers.
