Singapore’s Top Health Officials Latest To Cast Doubt Over Efficacy Of Chinese Sinovac Vaccine

Singapore's top health officials have cast doubt on the efficacy of the Chinese company Sinovac's COVID-19 vaccines, even though the island nation has begun the use of the same to protect its population against the disease, reports Hindustan Times.

Singapore's Director of Medical Services Kenneth Mak cited the case of Indonesia and said that he was worried about the reports of people vaccinated with Sinovac's vaccine getting sick with the disease.

While most of these workers were asymptomatic, dozens of others were hospitalised with high fevers and falling oxygen-saturation levels as per the details shared by a senior health official in Central Java.

It should be noted that Indonesian healthcare workers were among the first to be inoculated against the virus with Sinovac's vaccine when the vaccination started in the country in January.
