'Taiwan Stands With India, Ready To Provide Help': President Tsai Ing-wen On India's COVID Situation

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen on Tuesday (27 April) expressed solidarity with India over the Covid-19 situation in the country and said that the east Asian island nation is ready to provide help to New Delhi.


"On behalf of all Taiwanese people, I would like to express my serious concern over the rapid spread of COVID-19 in India. Taiwan stands with India in this difficult time, & we are ready to provide help," President Tsai Ing-wen said.

Earlier on Sunday (25 April), Taiwanese Vice-President Lai Ching-te expressed support to India, saying that both the country will "get through" the global pandemic together.


The development comes as India is battling the second wave of the pandemic, with the active COVID cases surging to a record level of over 28.82 lakh.
