Tamil Nadu: Recount Of Postal Votes Cast In Tenkasi Constituency During 2021 Assembly Elections Ordered By Madras High Court

The Madras High Court today (5 July) ordered a recount of postal votes cast in the Tenkasi Assembly constituency during the 2021 Assembly elections after hearing a plea by the losing All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) candidate S Selva Mohandas Pandian.

The seat was won by S Palani Nadar of the Congress with a margin of 370 votes.

Further, the Court ordered the Election Officer to pay Rs 10000 as litigation expenses to the petitioner.
