In a bid to give a fillip to the vaccination efforts against COVID-19 in India, Tata Medical & Diagnostics is engaging with multiple vaccine makers like Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and AstraZeneca for marketing and distribution deals, reports Economic Times.
Furthermore, the company is already tapping in on the network of pharmacy e-commerce platform 1mg which the Tata Group is in the process of acquiring. The company is leveraging 1mg's network as it plans to enter the COVID-19 vaccination after 1 May when the scope will be opened up to the private sector enterprises.
The company is presently said to be ironing out the specifics to cover the vaccination of its six lakh employees, trade partners, vendors and also to parallelly offer vaccinations to others. 1mg will likely be handling the job of testing and vaccinations for the Tata Group entity.
It should be noted that the Tata Group incorporated the Tata Medical & Diagnostics in June last year amid the pandemic, as the group looked to cater to the COVID-19 health requirements in the devices and formulations space.
