Tripura: Biplab Deb Govt Distributes 10,000 Ducklings To Farmers Near Rudrasagar Lake As Part Of Tourism Initiative

The Chief Minister (CM) Biplab Deb-led Tripura government has successfully distributed 10,000 ducklings to farmers and animal rearers around the iconic Rudrasagar Lake in a bid to turn the Neermahal (Water Palace) situated in the middle of the lake can itself turn into a Rs 100 crore tourist-centric economy, reports The Indian Express.

The project which was announced in November 2018 was well received by the locals and has since witnessed the distribution of 10,340 hybrid ducklings. Of the same, close to 350 ducks have already started to lay eggs as well.

Sharing more of his plans in this direction, Deb said, "Slowly Tripura is standing on its own feet. I want to take tourism to the international level to bring revenue." He also revealed that his government had already put out a tender for the building of a 3-star hotel in Neermahal.
