Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik: Government Invites Bids For 11 Airports In J&K, 2 In Ladakh

In a bid to boost the air connectivity for the two newly established Union Territories (UTs) of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the Modi Government has invited bids for launching flight services for as many as 11 airports in J&K and two in Ladakh under the Government's flagship UDAN scheme, reports DNA India.

The bids have been called under the fourth round of UDAN scheme which commenced on 3 December. The fourth round of the scheme is focused on boosting air connectivity in hilly states, northeastern regions, various islands and in the UTs of Ladakh and that of J&K.


In Ladakh, the bids have been called for airports in Kargil and Thoise. Meanwhile, in J&K, bids have been called for airports in Akhnur, Chamb, Chushal, Fukche, Gurez, Jhangar, Miran Sahib, Panzgam, Poonch, Rajouri and Udhampur.
