US Blacklists 28 Chinese Entities Over Persecution Of Ethnic Minorities In China’s Xinjiang Province

Slamming China for the oppression and targeted abuse of Uighur Muslims and others religious minorities in the Xinjiang province, the United States (US) on Monday (7 October) blacklisted 28 Chinese entities which are allegedly involved in facilitating persecution of the Uighur people, reports Times of India.

Asserting that the US 'cannot and will not' tolerate the 'brutal' oppression of ethnic minorities in China, US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced the decision which bars the 28 Chinese entities from purchasing products from the US.

The move to blacklist Chinese entities in the midst of an ongoing trade war could risk the trade deal negotiations between the world's two largest economies, both of which have been imposing trade tariffs on products originating from each other's territory.
