The bid for developing a Rs 10,000 crore film city along the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh (UP) will open on 23 November, and the pre-bid conference is scheduled for 8 December.
"The bid for the development of Rs 10,000 crore film city will open on 23 November, pre-bid will be done on 8 December. It will be built upon 1,000 acres of land, out of which 740 acres will have filming activities and 40 acres for film institutions," Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO Arun Veer Singh was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
In September 2020, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the establishment of the nation's biggest film city in the State's Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Then within a week, YEIDA had zeroed in on 1,000-acre land for the proposed film city in Sector-21, just six km away from the upcoming international airport at Jewar. Also, the site lies along the Yamuna Expressway and is just 12 km away from the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, 70 km from Delhi, and 150 km from Agra.
