5 Lakh Students Skip Board Exams As UP Government Gets Tough On Cheating Mafia In Uttar Pradesh

Yogi Adityanath government’s tough stance on the powerful cheating mafia that infested the Uttar Pradesh (UP) education system till now has already seen 5 lakh students skip their UP Board exams since they began two days back.
The arrangements have also seen 144 students being caught for cheating in two days, Dainik Jagran has reported. More than 66 lakh students had registered for the class 10 and 12 board examinations, which will go on till 12 March.
This year, the state Ministry of Secondary and Higher Education, which conducts the exams, had in place measures to ensure that the exams are conducted in a fair manner. All the examination centres have been brought under CCTV surveillance and Special Task Force (STF) teams are conducting surprise inspections.
"UP would be made free from copying/cheating," Sharma said speaking to PTI.
The strict measures have seen students dependant on cheating skipping the exams altogether, with 2,89,308 students skipping the exams on the first day and 2,15,761 students on the second day.
Speaking on the arrangements made, Sharma said, "We have studied all the possible ways and means of unfair means during the examinations. Those appearing in an exam impersonating someone else or involved in changing answer sheets before they reach evaluation centres will not be able to do so. Effective measures have been taken".
