Though Bengaluru has been reporting high number of Covid-19 cases recently, 99.4 per cent patients from the city are asymptomatic as per the state’s Covid war room data.

Similarly, a massive 95.9 per cent of Covid-19 infected individuals across Karnataka are not showing any symptoms of the disease.

A report in Bangalore Mirror mentioned an unnamed city-based doctor who claimed that the majority of patients he assesses turns out to be either asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic.

In fact, even the ones who are mildly symptomatic stop showing the concerned symptoms within two-three days itself.

On the other hand, another doctor claimed that the asymptomatic patients made it difficult to restrict the spread of the virus as they showcase very mild indications but transmit the disease as efficiently as the symptomatic patients.

But, a study mentioned in this report says that the city’s average daily Covid-19 tests had risen from 17,510 in August 2020 to 48,820 in November 2020.

However, the administration seemed to have let their guard down post that and hence the average daily tests reduced from the aforementioned high of November 2020 to merely 25,975 in February 2021.

However, the latest revelation of almost all the cases in the busy city being asymptomatic should provide a sigh of relief to the state’s healthcare system.
