After Kerala Now Nagaland Appeals For Flood Relief, Centre Rushes NDRF Forces

Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams are being rushed to Nagaland to assist with relief works arising out of the flood-like situation prevalent in Nagaland.

Home Minister Singh took to Twitter and stated that he had spoken to the Nagaland Chief Minister and also announced the dispatch of NDRF forces by the Home Ministry.

Earlier, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had also taken to Twitter and appealed to the Central Government for assistance in dealing with the flood situation arising out of incessant rains.

In the video accompanying the tweet, it was stated that essential amenities and requirements were lacking and also spoke of a power failure caused due to rising water levels in the Doyang hydroelectric power project.

The Nagaland Government had contributed Rs. 1 crore to flood-hit Kerala.
