With just a day to go for the historic Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of a grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) yesterday (4 August) issued a veiled threat by invoking Hagia Sofia which was recently converted to a mosque in Turkey.

In its tweet the AIMPLB said that the Babri Masjid was and shall always remain a mosque, and also cast aspersions on the Supreme Court's unanimous verdict.

Attacking the Supreme Court over its historic judgement, the AIMPLB said, "Illegal expropriation does not change the reality. Supreme Court has given its verdict but has embarrassed justice."

AIMPLB has gone on to assert that the top court was "extremely unjust" to have handed over the land of the "masjid" for the building of the grand temple.

It also went on to say that, "No need to be heartbroken. Situations don't last forever."

AIMPLB was soon heavily criticised by many prominent netizens, many of whom called for the implementation of an uniform civil code.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Ayodhya today (5 August) on the holy occasion of the ground-breaking ceremony. The ceremony would be live-telecast for devotees from across the world to witness and rejoice.
