Ahead Of Paris Plenary Of FATF, Pakistan Hires US-Based Lobby Firm To Make Trump Administration Soften Its Stance Against It

In a bid to politicise the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and find its way out of the terror watchdog's grey list, Pakistan has hired a top lobbying firm to push its case with the Donald Trump administration, reports Hindustan Times.
Pakistan needs the support of at least 12 of the 39 members of the FATF to get out of the grey list, for which it needs the United States (US) to back it up at the Paris plenary of the body which is set to be held from 21 to 23 October.
For the job, Pakistan has hired Houston based Linden Strategies to push its case.
The firm is known to have specialisation in government relations, strategic communications, business advisory and political consulting.
The firm has been hired to convince the Trump administration that Pakistan has disavowed Taliban, Haqqani network, as Qaeda and Daesh's terrorists.
It has also been tasked with pushing the narrative that it has cracked down on multiple designated persons and senior leaders of terror organisations.
