Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria took charge as the new chief of the Indian Air Force in New Delhi on Monday (30 September).
Bhaduaria took over from his predecessor Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa who retired after serving in the IAF for over four decades.
"Birender Singh Dhanoa retired with the traditional wreath laying ceremony at the National War Memorial here (New Delhi). R.K.S. Bhaduaria has taken charge as the new IAF chief today," said a IAF spokesperson.
Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF in June 1980. Apart from his proficiency in various aircraft of the IAF, Bhadauria is also an Experimental Test Pilot, a Cat 'A' Qualified Flying Instructor and a Pilot Attack Instructor.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
