Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon after his address to the nation posted a tweet urging people not to panic over the 21 day lock down and assured that essential commodities and medicines will continue to remain available.
The Home Ministry has also released guidelines pertaining to this matter and listed out all the essential services which will remain operational during the lock down period.
The list of services which will remain open during the lock down include hospitals, medical establishment, medical stores, grocery shops, banks, ATMs petrol pumps, print and electronic media, food delivery and e-commerce services.
The guidelines though detailed that air, rail and road transportation would remain suspended during the lockdown period excluding emergency vehicles and transport of essential goods.
