‘All Terrorists Involved In Easter Bombings Killed Or Arrested’: Sri Lanka Defence Chiefs Assure Normalcy

In a joint press conference addressed by the three chiefs of Sri Lanka’s respective defence forces, as well as the country’s police chief, a statement was released that all those Islamic terrorists who were involved in the Easter bombings have either been killed or in custody of authorities, reports The Hindu.

The top officials also gave their assurance that a special security plan has been put in place and the country was now safe.

Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandana Wickremaratne stated that all the explosives which were with the National Thowheeth Jama’ath (NTJ), the terror group believed to be behind the attacks, have also been seized.


As per police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera, a total of 73 people have been detained are currently being questioned over the terror attack

Army chief Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake exhorted the public to return to normal daily routines, stating that normalcy had returned to the country.
