The Allahabad High Court registrar in an order dated 3 April has ordered all officials to stop in their tracks and pay highest respect to lordships when they see them passing through the court galleries.

As per the order which was shared by former government of India secretary Anil Swarup, this decision was taken after it was noted that many officials were not stopping to wait for the Honourable Judges to cross them while on route to either sitting in court or retiring to the Lordship’s chambers.

To prevent this from happening, the officials have been ordered to stop and pay highest respects to their Lordships when they see the judges passing through the galleries meant for their movement.

The order concludes on an ominous note by warning officials that “any deviation in this regard would be viewed seriously”.
