Former Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) chief minister Omar Abdullah today (2 May) lashed out at the Congress party for ignoring the state during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2019, reports India Today.

Abdullah made the remarks on a Twitter post, claiming that the party had not even conducted a single election meet in J&K and its leadership had not visited the state.

"It says a lot about the Congress party and its approach to Jammu & Kashmir. There hasn’t been a single election meeting by its leadership," read the tweet.

Abdullah compared this with the BJP’s approach, tweeting, "Contrast this with the number of rallies addressed by Modi ji and Amit Shah. They may not have come to the valley but they didn’t ignore the state."

He added that in three of the state’s seats where the Congress stood a chance against the BJP, it had essentially given the latter a walkover due to issues with its campaign.
