In a bid to expand its user base among young Indians, e-commerce giant Amazon has come out with an offer through which those in the 18-24 age group will receive a cashback of 50 per cent, or Rs 500, on purchase of a one-year membership plan of Amazon Prime, which generally costs Rs 999, reports IANS.
"With a 50% cashback on Amazon Prime membership, customers can enjoy the best of shopping and entertainment through Prime, while, at the same time, save ₹500," said Director and Head of Amazon Prime, India, Akshay Sahi.
Those who wish to avail the offer would be required to prove their age by uploading a PAN card, mailing address proof and will also be subject to email verification. Users can click the banner which reads ‘youth offer’ on the Amazon website if they want access to the offer.
The cashback would be credited to the customers’ accounts within ten days of purchase.
Amazon Prime is a popular subscription service which offers users free fast delivery on a variety of items, and also access to video streaming of shows and movies available on the platform.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
