The National Investigation Agency (NIA) late Saturday (13 March) night arrested Mumbai Police cop Sachin Vaze after grilling him for 12 hours in connection with the bomb scare at Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia residence, reports Indian Express.
This comes after Mumbai Police removed Vaze from the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Crime Branch and placed him in Special Branch amid the uproar over his alleged involvement in the bomb scare and murder of Thane resident Mansukh Hiren.
It should be noted that NIA had also called in two Assistant Commissioners of Police Nitin Alaknure who serves in the Mumbai Police's Crime Branch and Sripath Kale who serves in the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). Alaknure was the investigating officer (IO) in the bomb scare case before it was taken over by NIA. Meanwhile, Kale is the IO in the alleged Hiren murder case.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
