Amid Heightened Tension With Pakistan, India And US To Hold Intersessional Meet Of 2+2 Dialogue In California

India and the United States will hold an intersessional meeting of the 2+2 Dialogue mechanism to discuss critical diplomatic and security considerations, Economic Times has reported.
"During the Intersessional, the two sides will discuss ways to advance cooperation on critical diplomatic and security priorities, including our shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific region, and review preparations for the next 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue,” the Unites States State Department said.
India and US will also hold the talks in the fourth session of the US-India Maritime Security Dialogue aimed at strengthening bilateral maritime security co-operation. Both the intersessional and the maritime doalogues will be held at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey in California.
The 2+2 dialogue is the second highest level of engagement between India and the US behind summits between the Indian PM and US President. MEA S Jaishankar and Defence Mister Rajnath Singh are to meet their US counterparts as per the engagement which will be arranged later in the year.
