Amit Shah Announces Government’s Plans To Set Up All India Universities For Police And Forensic Sciences

The Government of India is planning to set up an All India Police University and All India Forensic Science University with affiliated colleges in the states to ensure up-to-date investigative, security as well as forensic capability for the force, reports Asian News International (ANI).

The announcement about the Government's plans in this regard was made by Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah himself during his inaugural address to the 54th DGsP/IGsP conference which is being held in the State of Maharashtra's Pune city presently.

Speaking at the gathering, Shah also shared that the Government was working towards overhauling the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) to make them more conducive to today's democratic needs.

At the conference, Shah also paid homage to the Police martyrs and lauded the forces across the nation for their good work.
