Another Milestone For Hyderabad Metro: Ameerpet–Hi-Tec City Stretch To Be Inaugurated By December

The 10 km long stretch of Hyderabad Metro between Ameerpet and Hi-Tec City is going to be inaugurated by December.
Times Now quoted Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) NVS Reddy as saying that the metro work progress is going as per schedule. He added that they would operationalise the Ameerpet to Hi-Tec City line by December.
In November 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 30-km Miyapur-Nagole stretch in the city. In 2018 September, the Ameerpet-LB Nagar stretch was inaugurated. Hyderabad Metro has the longest connectivity in India after Delhi. The metro project has bagged the ‘Best Urban Mass Transit Project’ award. Reddy was given the award of excellence during a conference held at Nagpur.
Times Now quoted a few lines of the statement from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The Ministry said that Hyderabad Metro Rail has emerged as a successful example of a Public-Private Partnership initiative. It called the project an urban redesign and rejuvenation effort to transform the city into a people-friendly green environment.
It stated that other noteworthy features of the project are land pooling, a robust structural design which would aid in revenue generation.
Along with the project, a common mobility card is being planned so that the passengers can use it in both metros and buses in the city.
