UGC
After issuing a warning to educational institutes against withholding original certificates of students during their admissions, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has once again repeated the same and said that colleges simply cannot do such things. The UGC has again asked the institutes to give away all candidates’ original documents if they still holds any, especially after verification is done.
This comes after several students complained regarding the issue. In a notification issued by UGC, Jagran Josh has cited a paragraph that reads, “The commission has notified UGC (Grievance Redressal) Regulations, 2012 on redressal of multifarious grievances of students. But given the sheer volume of complaints, the commission felt the need to notify elaborate instructions so as to curb such malpractices.”
This is in attempt to cut down on the profit-making models that several educational institutions have adopted.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
