Anti-Pakistan and pro-India slogans were raised during the funeral of Rifleman Aurangzeb, killed by terrorists after abduction from Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday, The Telegraph has reported.

Wrapped in Tricolour, the jawan of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles was laid to rest in his native village in the border district of Poonch with full Army honours. His bullet-ridden body was recovered from Pulwama district on Thursday evening. In an atmosphere of palpable grief and anger, a large number of people joined the funeral procession.

Aurangzeb was part of Major Rohit Shukla’s team, which eliminated top Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sameer Tiger.

The jawan’s father, retired from the Indian Army, has given the central government a 72-hour deadline to find the terrorists who abducted and killed his son, saying he will secure justice on his own if the government fails.

"My son has abided by his pledge, he has kept his promise. Am giving Narendra Modi 72 hours for avenging my son’s killing, otherwise we are ready to take revenge on our own," Aurangzeb's father said.

Aurangzeb’s uncle had also died on duty fighting terrorists in 2004. His brother is also a soldier in the Indian Army. His 15-year-old sibling, who was talking to him on the phone when he was abducted, also wants to join the Army.
