Coming down heavy on Pakistan for its unabated push to infiltrate terrorists into India and create disturbances in the Kashmir Valley even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane on Monday (4 May) slammed it for its “myopic and limited” agenda, reports Hindustan Times.

General Naravane warned the Islamic Republic that the India Army would appropriately respond to the killing of five security personnel in an encounter with Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in North Kashmir's Handwara with 'precision'.

“I would like to emphasise that the Indian Army will give a proportionate response to all acts of infringement of ceasefire and its (Pakistan's) support to terrorism. The onus remains with Pakistan to bring peace in the region,” he was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

“Unless Pakistan gives up its policy of state-sponsored terrorism, we will continue to respond appropriately and with precision.”

The warning from General Naravane comes as there has been a sudden spike in ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (LoC) in the recent times to aid the infiltration of terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
