Karnataka Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah yesterday (1 March) inaugurated a multi-level parking and the first phase of Okalipuram signal-free corridor in Bengaluru, Deccan Herald has reported.
However, both these projects have reportedly been inaugurated in a haste and are only half-done, with local MLA Suresh Kumar asserting that the municipal body should have given more time for the concrete to dry before the corridor’s inauguration.
Municipal officials however claimed that only the first phase was opened for public use, which consists of a flyover between City Railway Station and Malleshwaram and an underpass from Malleshwaram and Rajajinagar.
Elections in Karnataka are scheduled for later this year and the Congress CM is on an image makeover spree, trying to project himself as a development icon before the elections.
Meanwhile, TenderSURE project on Church Street was also inaugurated by the CM along with Bangalore Development Minister KJ George.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
