Asaduddin Owaisi Helped BJP In Bihar Polls, Will Help In Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal: BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj

Member of Parliament and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sakshi Maharaj has said that Owaisi helped the Bharataiya Janata Party in Bihar assembly polls. He has said that Owasi will help the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls and then in West Bengal polls.

A section of the media has described Sakshi Maharaja's statement as "controversial".

Maharaj was reacting to a comment, seemingly from the local media, on Owaisi's visit to Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

In a small video clip shared by News 24 TV channel on Twitter, Sakshi Maharaj says that he wishes Owaisi strength. He adds, "badee meherbaani unki (thankful to him)." He adds, "Upar wala unka saath de (may the Almighty be with Owaisi).

Interestingly, Owaisi has been previously accused by some parties of being the "B team" of BJP. Owaisi's AIMIM won on five seats in the Bihar assembly polls. Now, he can be seen focusing on his party's expansion in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

He has forayed into West Bengal, where he is emerging as an opponent to the ruling Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee.

Owaisi recently visited Varanasi where he said that the coalition Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha, which his party is now a part of, will present a strong fight to the ruling BJP in the 2022 assembly polls.

Reportedly, Samajwadi Party leader Anuraj Bhadouria has said that Maharaj's statement has unveiled the relationship between BJP and Owaisi's party AIMIM.
