At Least 2,500 Positive Coronavirus Cases In Four Countries A Result Of Mega Church Celebration In France

Mega celebrations in mid-Frburary at an “evangelical superchurch” located in the French city of Mulhouse have been linked to at least 2,500 positive coronavirus cases in four countries, Reuters has reported.
The celebrations which took place at the Christian Open Door church for a week starting 18 February was also attended by individuals carrying a Covid-19 infection.
As a result, this Christian congregation became the largest infection cluster in France. Till date 2,500 confirmed cases in regions like France, Burkina Faso, Guyana, Switzerland and Corsica.
The infected attendees also included employees at a French nuclear power plant and Peugeot Citroen factory. Other such attended who tested positive included a 70-year-old woman who resides on the island of Corsica, a pastor Mamadou Karambiri who lives in Ouagadougou - the capital of Burkina Faso. A Swiss national also infected an evangelical community in Lausanne.
The seven day event saw attendance ranging from 1,000 to 2,500 per session and it was in late February when more patients began showing symptoms. Till date 17 members of the church congregation have died due to Covid-19.
