Kerala Mosque Stoning: Police File Case Against CPM Youth Leaders While Communist Minister Blames RSS
Perambra (Calicut) Police have registered a case against activists belonging to Democratic Youth Federation of India and Communist Party of India (Marxist) for pelting stones at a mosque and promoting enmity, reports Business Standard.
Akhildas and 20 others, all local leaders of CPI(M), had cases registered against them under Section 153A for promoting enmity between two groups and attempting to cause a riot. This was in connection to a group of people pelting stones at a mosque in Perambra last week.
The Communist Minister for Industries, EP Jayarajan, had earlier blamed RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) for the attacks and said severe action would be taken against them by the government.
The stone-pelting comes at a time when Kerala is seeing massive riots due to two women breaking a centuries-old tradition at Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple and entering it using stealth, with full support from the Communist government.
On Thursday, protests by devotees broke out across the State, after news of the government sneaking the two women (Bindu and Kanakadurga) into the temple broke out.
The police have arrested 5,769 devotees, and 1,869 others were detained till today morning (January 7), leading to an eerie silence.
