The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) is set to organise a Deepotsav, grander than the previous two editions, in Ayodhya on the occasion of Diwali from 25-27 October, reports Economic Times.

As per a concept note of the Tourism Department of the state government, the administration intends to hold an event which would be grander than the previous two editions of the Deepotsav held in Ayodhya in the last two years.

Giving more insights into the planned event, state's Additional Chief Secretary, Awanish Awasthi said, "We will have a larger deepotsav this time which will extend in a bigger way along the Saryu river in Ayodhya. The Ram Ki Paidi ghat (which is lit up with earthen lamps) will not have still water this time but flowing water. The irrigation department has commissioned a new project for pumping water into the Ram Ki Paidi which is expected to start this time,"

Furthermore, it should also be noted that the state government is also planning to invite noted figures to the event, as it had invited South Korea's first lady Kim Jung-Sook as a chief guest last year.

The announcement of the grand Deepotsav comes at a time when the contentious Ram Janmabhoomi-babri Masjid title suit case is in its final stage in the Supreme Court which is hearing the matter on a daily basis.
