Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing attack against the Congress on Sunday (28 October), by saying that he wasted 25 years of his life by being a member of the party. The BJP leader was in the Congress party until four years ago.

Addressing a rally for the BJP’s Yuva Morcha, he said that the party will win the upcoming elections with the help of the youth wing. He further added that he wished he was a part of BJYM earlier, and couldn’t be so since he was a part of the youth congress.

Furthermore, he claimed that he had turned a blind eye towards the values and principles of the BJP while he was in the Congress.

He regrets his time wasted in the grand old party and goes on to add that workers of the Congress party are taught to chant ‘Rahul Gandhi Ki Jai’ and BJP taught him to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

He concluded the speech by claiming that Congress’ definition of secularism is - not Lord Ram but Babur is our god but in contrast, he said that the BJP professes that Babur is our enemy and Ram is our god.
