The two-member committee of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) is not able to make the final decision on whether or not to sack Rahul Johri, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI). The New Indian Express reports.

The BCCI CEO is facing serious allegations of sexual harassment from his previous job as the Executive Vice-President and General Manager (South Asia) for Discovery Network in the Asia Pacific.

Harnidh Kaur, a female writer and poet had named him in a twitter post with screenshots of the ordeal of an anonymous victim, accusing him of sexually assaulting her for a job opportunity. Johri has been on leave since the accusations surfaced.

Diana Edulji and Vinod Rai, members of CoA, were at loggerheads. Former wanted to sack Mr. Johri whereas latter opposed the decision. Now, an independent investigation committee has been set up to probe the charges.

The committee would comprise Justice Rakesh Sharma, a former Judge of Allahabad High Court, Barkha Singh, former chairperson of Delhi commission for Women, and PC Sharma, former director of CBI.

The committee will be looking into the charges of sexual molestation from Johri’s past employment as well as complaints of any staff members of BCCI against him. They will submit their report with findings and recommendations within 15 days.
