The West Bengal police has been accused of shooting three BJP supporters including a 14-year-old boy, for chanting Jai Shri Ram in Bankura district, Times Now has reported.
The Bengal police is said to have taken this action following a clash between BJP and Trinamool workers during a rally by TMC MP Suvendu Adhikary. The clash reportedly broke out after the BJP workers chanted Jai Shri Ram during Adhikary’s public meeting.
Following the incident, BJP accused the Mamata Banerjee led Bengal government of using the state machinery to unleash terror on civilians. The party claimed that the 14-year-old boy is now battling for his life.
The BJP MP from Bankura Subhas Sarkar has alleged that the BJP workers were specially targeted by the mob and rejected claims of the firing being resorted to for quelling a rioting mob. The injured are now undergoing treatment at Bankura Medical College.
