Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka Dr G Parameshwara has kept aside heavy rains, potholes and hours of traffic jam while making a strong statement defending the privileges of zero traffic he’s enjoying.
According to The New Indian Express, Parameshwara got agitated and was quoted as saying, “If, according to you, I shouldn’t have it then should we have it removed?” he retorted a reply to a journalist who posed him the question.
Former Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy gave up the zero-traffic privilege and set a precedence in politics. To this, he replied, “They didn’t want it but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t have it. This is my decision. I know it all.”
The state government on Wednesday (September 26) issued a circular saying that the designation of the Deputy CM will be treated on par with the CM. The circular read as follows, “The current government has a deputy chief minister. It has been reiterated that protocol mandated for the chief minister should be extended without changes to the deputy chief minister as well during all state-level and district-level visits.”
Recently, he was embroiled in a controversy when the media caught his gunman cleaning his clothes on camera.
