Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao: Haryana Sees Radical Growth As Sex Ratio At Birth Soars From 871 Girls To 923 In Five Years

Since 2014, the State of Haryana led by Chief Minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar has made a radical improvement in the sex ratio which has risen from a sordid figure of 871 girls on every 1000 boys in 2014 to 923 girls in 2019, reports Financial Express.

The improvement in sex ratio at birth by 52 points in Haryana comes as a major achievement for Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi's 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign. The latest figure have been revealed by Dr Rakesh Gupta who is the nodal officer for the centre's campaign in Haryana.

The data has revealed that in 2019, 5,18,725 births were registered in the State of which a 2,48,950 were girls, while the rest 2,69,775 were boys. The State's Ambala and Panchkula have particularly outshone other regions with each recording a sex ratio of an impressive 959 and 963, respectively.

It should also be noted that Mahendragarh in Haryana has recorded the most radical improvement with the sex ratio at birth surging from a mere 745 girls on every 1,000 boys in 2014 to 917 in 2019, a massive 172 points increment.
