Kothagudem Power Plant , Telangana (Facebook)
State-owned BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited) has announced that it has successfully commissioned an 800 Mega Watt (MW) thermal unit in a record time of 46 months, reports Press Trust of India.
The statement said, “The 800 MW set has been commissioned at Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) of Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TSGENCO).”
The project has been executed by BHEL under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.
Apart from the Kothagudem project, BHEL has been awarded the 5x800 MW Yadadri project and 4x270 MW Bhadradari project by TSGENCO, both of which are currently under execution.
BHEL is also working on the Steam Generator package at the 2x800 MW Telangana STPP (Super Thermal Power Plant) for NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) in the state.
