Subzi Mandi - representative image
Bhopal traders have said that they support the demands of the farmers but the markets and mandis will remain open today, 8 December, as farmers in parts of Delhi, Punjab and Haryana observe bandh as part of the ongoing farmers' agitation.
Farmer groups, reportedly, have not contacted traders on the issue of the bandh and the mandi and markets are expected to remain open.
The traders have said that grain mandi in Bhopal will remain open. The report has mentioned the head of the traders' association saying that as per the rules of their organisation, the committee takes a decision on the bandh when the appeal comes 72 hours before the bandh.
No appeal of keeping the mandi closed has come before the organisation from the farmers' groups.
Others have been mentioned saying that they support the demands of the farmers but the mandi will not be closed during the bandh and will function normally as on other days.
