In a major breakthrough, National Investigation Agency (NIA) has successfully arrested an operative of the Pakistan-backed anti-India terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) which was involved in carrying out the suicide bombing attack in Kashmir Valley's Pulwama on 14 February last year which killed 40 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), reports Indian Express.

Aged 22 years, the overground worker of the JeM has been identified as Shakir Bashir Magrey who is an owner of a furniture shop in the Valley. He had provided shelter as well as logistical assistance to the suicide bomber who had carried out the dastardly attack, Adil Ahmad Dar.

On further probing, Mahrey has revealed that he had been providing shelter to Dar as well as a Pakistani terrorist named Mohammad Umar farooq in his own residence from late 2018 till the attack had taken place. He had also assisted the two in the preparation of the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which was used in the attack.

He had also revealed that apart from his involvement in the Pulwama attack, he had collected and delivered weapons cash and other explosives to various terrorists of JeM.

Magrey has now been sent off to a NIA custody for 15 days till the interrogation is completed.

JeM had claimed responsibility for the February 2019 Pulwama attack which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans.
