In a bid to give a fillip to tourism and cultural renaissance in the State of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath-led State Government is set to build 1,038 new platforms for Ganga aarti across several districts from Bijnor to Ballia, reports Economic Times.

The State Government is aiming to construct new aarti sites in the villages falling in a radius of five kilometres of the Ganga river from Bijnor to Ballia to turn them into major spots of religious tourism. The new platforms for Ganga aarti will start from Bijnor and continue till the last village of UP situated on the banks of the holy river in Ballia.

The entire plan is being executed in cooperation with the State's tourism department and the Ganga aartis at the newly built platforms will be organised based on public participation and will be performed at a fixed time each day.

The decision comes after the Gajendra Singh Shekhawat-led Union Jal Shakti Ministry had in December issued instructions to develop ancient and historical religious places and temples in these villages as tourist spots.
