Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched a capacity building programme on nano-satellite development to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the first United Nations Conference on the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNISPACE+50).
The announcement for the same was made on 18 June by the ISRO chief, Dr K Sivan. The programme titled UNNATI (UNispace Nano-satellite Assembly & Training by ISRO), will provide training to participants from developing countries to strengthen their capabilities in assembling, integrating and testing of nano-satellites.
Nano-satellites are small satellites that weigh between 1 and 10 kg.
ISRO plans to train 90 officials from 45 developing countries under the programme. The first batch began on 17 January 2019, with thirty participants from 17 countries, including Bhutan, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico and Myanmar. The participants were selected from a pool of 87 applications from 34 countries.
Involving The Next Generation
On 1 January (2019) ISRO also launched a new platform named ‘Samwad with Students’ to “engage youngsters across India to capture their scientific temperament. The new conversation mission will inspire students cutting across schools and colleges.”

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
