BJP Worker Killed In Telangana’s Mahbubnagar District; TRS Member And Five Others Booked

In another alleged incident of political violence, a worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Prem Kumar Reddy, was killed in Telangana’s Mahbubnagar district after the party won the local body election, reports India Today.
It is believed that the worker was killed by clubbing. The BJP has alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which is the ruling party in the state, is behind the murder, and the police have already lodged a case against TRS worker Srikanth Reddy and five other persons.
BJP leaders from the state, including D K Aruna and former MP AP Jitender Reddy have launched a series of demonstrations against the murder, demanding that the accused persons in the case be taken into custody.
Prem Kumar Reddy was only 23 years old, and his killing is likely linked to the fact that the BJP beat TRS in the mandal territorial constituency elections in Devarakadra Mandal.
The party has also seen its presence rising in the southern state, increasing its Lok Sabha tally from one to four in the recently-concluded general elections.
