Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath on Sunday (9 February) while speaking at a job fair held in Gorakhpur University announced several measures to increase employment in the state, including internship for students and hiring of girls in the Police force, reports Economic Times.
CM Adityanath announced that the students of classes 10 and 12 and the students pursuing graduation would be linked to technical institutions for six months to a year and would be provided an honorarium of Rs 2,500 per month of which Rs 1,500 would be proffered by the Union Government while the rest would be borne by the State Government.
CM Adityanath also added that in a bid to ensure placement of the students post the internship, the State Government would also create human resources cells. The latest announcement comes as a major push by the CM Adityanath led government to boost employment opportunities for the youth hailing from the State.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if the announcements will be implemented in partnership with the Union Government's Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana which has already skilled and provided employment to more than 16 lakh youth till now. The spokespersons of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that the details would come out in due course of time.
