Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Thursday (24 October) said that the requirements of obtaining visa by Indian tourists and business-people to visit Brazil will be dropped off, reports News18.

Similar restrictions will be dropped for Chinese visitors as well. In a similar move earlier this year, the Brazilian government ended visa requirements for tourists and business-people from the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia as well.

However, these countries have not reciprocated by dropping visa requirements for Brazilian citizens.

Bolsonaro, who came to power at the beginning of this year, has reduced the visa requirements to visit Brazil for many developed countries. The announcement to drop them for China and India is a first such measure for developing countries.
