BSF Jawan Ramzan Parray
An unarmed jawan of the Border Security Force (BSF) was shot dead by terrorists on Wednesday (27 September) evening. It's reported that the terrorists opened fire at the jawan, injuring four others. Identified as Mohammad Ramzan Parray, the jawan died on the spot while his father and three relatives are critically injured.
The 31-year-old BSF constable was deployed with the border-guarding force's 73rd battalion and had come home to the Bandipora district on leave. The BSF has confirmed the news on Twitter.
Terrorists dragged him out of the house and opened fire when it became clear that they wouldn't be able to take him away.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police, S P Vaid, 3 to 4 terrorists were involved in this attack. He said the terrorists wanted to take Parray away, but shot him multiple times at close range when he resisted.
Lt Ummer Fayaz of the Indian Army, who was murdered by Pakistan-sponsored terrorist earlier this year, was also on leave when the incident took place.
