Several parties not part of the NDA alliance have come forward to support the revocation of Article 370 which allows for two constitutions in the country.
The parties have lauded the courageous decision taken by the Narendra Modi-led government to revoke the article which they say is the need of the time.
The BSP MP to Rajya Sabha, Satish Chandra Mishra said “Our party gives complete support. We want that the Bill be passed. Our party is not expressing any opposition to Article 370 Bill & the other Bill.”
The YSRCP, represented by its RS MP V Vijaysai Reddy, said that the revocation represented a historical correction which was due for a long time. He said that the part will support the bill which will finally integrate Jammu and Kashmir into the Indian Union.
Meanwhile, the BJP MP from Ladakh also welcomed the bill saying that the people of Ladakh support the decision to make a separate Union Territory.
However, NDA constituent JD(U) will not be supporting the Bill. Party member KC Tyagi said, “Our chief Nitish Kumar is carrying forward the tradition of JP Narayan, Ram Manohar Lohia, and George Fernandes. So our party is not supporting the Bill moved in the Rajya Sabha today. We have different thinking. We want that Article 370 should not be revoked.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
