“It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing,” said the FM Sitharaman, quoting Swami Vivekananda on the role on women on society.
The FM drew attention to the record 78 MPs in the Lok Sabha, the highest ever in the India’s House of The People.
The FM extolled the role of women in Indian enterprises, especially in the form of Self Help Groups (SHGs), and announced the expansion of Interest Subvention Scheme for SHGs to all districts of the country.
Women entrepreneurs that are part of SHGs and have Jan Dhan Accounts will be allowed an overdraft of Rs 5,000 on the accounts. One woman member per SHGs will also be allowed a loan of Rs 1lakh as part of the MUDRA Yojana of the government.
