Bulandshahr Violence: Seven Booked For Cow Slaughter As Yogi Adityanath Government Reviews Law And Order Situation

Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a meeting to review the security situation in the state after violence in Bulandshahr’s Shyana which claimed two lives, including a cop, as police clashed with aggrieved villagers protesting cow slaughter.
The focus of the meeting was reportedly on cow slaughter, which preceded the violence. As per NDTV, the UP Chief Minister has ordered a crackdown on those involved in the cow slaughter which led to the violence.
“A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate why the violence happened and why the police personnel left Inspector Subodh Kumar alone,” ADG Prashant Kumar, Meerut Zone has been quoted in the Financial Express report.
Meanwhile, four people have already been arrested in relation to the cop’s killing, while FIRs have been registered against 27 accused and 60 unnamed persons. Villagers have alleged police brutality as it investigates the case with several reports of villagers fleeing their homes to escape the policemen.
Two minors, aged around 12 years, are among the seven Muslims booked for slaughter of cows which is illegal in the state.
Earlier, the Yogi Adityanath government had announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the civilian, and worth Rs 50 lakh and a government job for the family of the deceased cop.
