E-Commerce giant Amazon has come under flak over allegations that its employees were collecting bribes from online sellers for deleting negative reviews, reports Business Insider.

Reports suggest that the practice is most prevalent in China, where small businesses allegedly pay $300 to the Amazon employee for each lousy review they take down. The arrangement is made through WeChat by brokers who connect sellers with Amazon employees.

Amazon is reported to have launched an internal inquiry against employees who do not subscribe to the company policy.

An unfavourable product review is hugely damaging for a seller in Amazon. To quash bad feedback, some sellers are offering Amazon employees bribes to erase the negative review from the site entirely.
